There are myriad store-bought options that are particularly targeted at women and kids for better health and nutrition. One such healthy milk-based sweet malt drink is Horlicks powder and this recipe post shows how to make this powder at home with many flavors.
I have posted quite a few recipes regarding the energy drink or decoding the store-bought recipe. But this recipe of Horlicks has to be a complex recipe out of all. It is not to do with the set of ingredients, but the time and planning it takes to prepare it. Unlike any other grains, it takes a couple of days to plan to sprout the wheat grains. The wheat sprouts are subject to controlled temperature and the quantity of wheat grains used. Currently, it is winter season here in Australia, and it took 3-4 days in a slow cooker. At one point I had given up the idea of homemade horlicks recipe, but soon I saw tiny sprouts erupting. Apart from this long wait, the recipe is easy to prepare and hence worth having in your pantry.
Furthermore, some more related and additional tips, suggestions, and variants for homemade horlicks recipes. Firstly, the main ingredient for this recipe is whole wheat grains. Hence selecting the finest quality wheat grains is important. Also, the best quality helps to easily sprout. Secondly, there are different flavors that can be prepared using the basic horlicks powder. You may use flavoring agents like vanilla, badam, saffron, or even mix dry fruits. I have posted a popular chocolate flavor, but it can be extended to any desired flavor. Lastly, the powder prepared does not contain any preservative agents and hence does not have a long shelf life. You need to finish it off early and hence preparing in small batches is the best approach.

About Homemade Horlicks:
It is basically a finely powdered malt or nutritional supplement magic powder that is mixed with hot or warm milk and served to kids or women. Horlicks powder is a popular energy drink produced and distributed by GlaxoSmithKline in various countries. It was first marketed as a meal replacement, especially as a lite dinner meal. However, soon the entire narrative was changed after the backlash and rebranded as a nutritional supplement.
Preparing Horlicks at home can be a tedious task as it requires a lot of planning and time, especially sprouting the wheat grain. Depending upon the location, and whether condition the sprouting can be easy or complex.
