10 Craft Ideas To Do With SpongeBob Coloring Pages

Here are 10 creative, fun, and cheap craft activities you can do with your finished coloring sheets!

1. Create a SpongeBob Doll

For this hilarious activity, use typical white foam cups and have the youngsters turn them upside down and laminate them with their SpongeBob coloring pages.

Popsicle sticks can be used for arms and legs, and the children can get creative with where they want to attach them.

Thin pipe cleaners, cut to no more than about an inch high, can be stuck into the top of the foam cup for those little sprigs of minion hair, and large wiggle eyes can be glued on the front.

2. Make a SpongeBob Popcorn Bag

Popcorn bag templates are simple and easy, and SpongeBob is perfect for this craft.

Have the children cut out large coloring pages featuring SpongeBob and follow the template, being sure to use the “square pants” section on the bottom.

For extra fun, decorate the bags with real popcorn, which can easily be glued on. These will eventually fall away, but the popcorn bag should last through a few uses!

3. Send Out Spongebob Invitations

SpongeBob always makes the top 10 list for a child’s birthday party theme, so use some of those finished coloring pages to make invitations!

Blue or green make nice background colors for the invites, and simple construction paper works great.

Fold the page in half, glue the cutout of SpongeBob onto the left side, and write out the invitation by hand on the right.

Don’t forget to decorate SpongeBob with puffy yellow glue or glitter!

4. Make a Hilarious SpongeBob Jellyfish

For this easy craft, all that’s needed is pink paper streamers and a paper bowl. Laminate the inside and the outside of the bowl with cutouts from the SpongeBob coloring page.

Glue pink craft pom-poms all around the edge of the bowl, on the inside and outside.

Next, glue a generous amount of pink streamers all around the edge of the upside-down bowl to create that classic pink jellyfish.

Punch a hole in the bowl so that it can be hung up, and watch the jellyfish sway in the breeze!

5.Create a SpongeBob Pincushion

For this simple, entertaining craft, give each child a standard yellow sponge, and cut out SpongeBob from the coloring page.

If it doesn’t fit the sponge exactly, simply cut the different parts down to size and glue them with crazy glue to the sponge.

Use craft wiggle eyes and SpongeBob mouth decals to finish off the face, and the sponge can be used as a funny pincushion.

6. SpongeBob Puppet Fun

If you sometimes make frozen treats from Kool-Aid or pudding, enlist your youngsters to help make these treats extra fun. One child can do several, or this craft can be a group activity.

Using large popsicle sticks, the children can color and cut out a SpongeBob character and carefully glue it around the popsicle stick.

The sticks should be laminated with acrylic spray before using them to make treats!

Once the treats are made, the children have their own SpongeBob popsicle sticks to eat from.

7. SpongeBob Emotion Page

Since SpongeBob is such an emotional character, he is a great choice for a classroom worksheet.

Have the youngsters color and cut out several different SpongeBob depictions featuring SpongeBob in different emotions, such as angry, sad, confused, etc.

These can be glued to a large poster board, column style, and next to each picture, each child can write about a time when they were happy, sad, angry, etc., for both a fun and purposeful keepsake.

8. Make a SpongeBob Penny Box

Most kids like to collect coins and pennies, so use that finished SpongeBob coloring page to create a fun penny box.

For a small one, use an empty baking soda container, or for a larger one, an oatmeal or cereal box.

Keep the coloring page intact, rather than cutting SpongeBob out, and use rubber cement or Elmer’s glue to wrap it snugly around the box.

For larger boxes, you may need to use more than one coloring page, but your child won’t mind! Don’t forget to make a slit on top for the coins.

9. Creative Bubble Containers

All kids love to blow bubbles with a bubble wand, but it’s even more fun when it becomes a craft.

For a fun group activity, combine warm water, blue Dawn detergent, and sugar, and fill individual plastic containers with the mixture.

Use about half a cup of both detergent and sugar for every four cups of water.

Have the children decorate their bubble containers with cutouts from their finished SpongeBob coloring pages. Make sure to use yellow bubble wands to complete the theme!

10.Make a SpongeBob Ringbinder

For this craft, color several different pages, and cut each character out. Then, two additional coloring pages should be completed and left intact.

The two full pages are used to decorate the front and back cover of a ring binder.

Then, fill the ring binder with paper, and use the cut-out SpongeBobs to divide it into different sections, with different SpongeBob cutouts marking each one.

All you need is glassine to laminate them and a hole punch so that they can be inserted into the ring binder at different places.
